One of the most fascinating ways to learn about a culture is by learning the language. Norwegian is spoken by 4 to 5 million people worldwide. There are several dialects of Norwegian, but only two official dialects as sanctioned by law: Bokmål ("book Norwegian") and Nynorsk ("new Norwegian"). Although Norwegians are educated in both official languages, about 85% of Norwegians and 92% of the publications in Norway use Bokmål.
